Hi, I'm Karen Smutz

I am a deep thinking, compassionate creative. I've been on this journey for over 15 years, and I feel like I have barely worked a day of it because I love what I do. It's not just pictures. Yes, I have a love affair with light, but it's deeper than that. It's about building people up and feeling good about themselves. It's about finding a person's light and making them feel like they are as beautiful as I see them. As they are...It's about making art together with you as the masterpiece.

It's about you becoming a "muse."

Outside of my non job, I am a believer of Jesus and am active in my church. I am a wife and mom to two kids who will probably never have a regular photo without some kind of stylized session. I am also a neonatal kitten foster for a local rescue. I am obsessed with birds, trees and butterflies and what they represent to me. I had a lot of time in my earlier glory days on the other side of the camera, so I have learned lots of "tricks" of the trade. I enjoy being home and simple things, as the best parts of life are the walking in between. I have a quirky sense of humor and will ponder the worldwide phenomenon of one shoe on the side of the road for all of eternity. I hope you dream big and choose to create some art with me.

“Karen Smutz is an extraordinary photography artist. She created one-of-a-kind masterpieces of my “baby girl,” creatively capturing her true spirit and energy right before my sweet songbird flies off to college. I knew the results would be special, but I was completely blown away by Karen’s passion and final product.”
